Myth vs Science

Everyday Eating

Myth: Skipping dinner is a healthy shortcut.

रात का खाना छोड़ना हेल्दी तरीक़ा है।

What science says

Evidence on meal timing is mixed and highly individual. Skipping meals often leads to stronger hunger later and can make it harder to meet protein, fibre and micronutrient needs — particularly for children, older adults, pregnant women and people on medication.

A lighter, earlier dinner — for example khichdi with curd, or dal with one roti and a vegetable — is usually more sustainable than skipping the meal. If you are on medication or pregnant, ask your doctor before changing meal timing.
